1963 Triumph TR4. Finished 2nd of 49 starters. Cruising behind Vic Skirmants in his Porsche 356 before cruising around. Traffic on the last lap caused the 3rd place MGB to catch up, but managed to gap him to keep 3rd.

1963 Triumph TR4. In-car from the start of the Kastner Cup. The fastest qualifying and running 4cyl car until a dropped valve. All the TR6s (minus the #7 car - which is on very sticky Hoosier R6s) are on much wider and stickier cantilever slicks.

I’m still listening to this in 2024!
It’s still incredible 2024.
Hard to decide if I like this one more than the original. Regardless, it's one of their best
Under rated
Awesome video! Thanks.
What’s everyone’s favorite version of this song? Me personally, it goes: the original version from Frankie Welfare Boy Age 5 in the number one slot, then this version from Movie Music at number two, with the version from the remastered Frankie… rounding out the third. It’s hard to categorize the times I’ve seen them play Hugs live. I’m old. I’ve seen Braid live hundreds of times. This isn’t a brag, it’s a longing for times gone by. 💕
The greatest song to Blatz with a license. I get looks in traffic tho. Certainly the best song I ever made because of the back of vocal polyrhythm. Heather Lewis ain't bad. Perhaps one day I'll buy a new shirt
Chords at the end of this one are so sad and beautiful.
I found this on iTunes, badass.
The algorythm brought me here really early huh
As a Tr-250 owner that sounds nice,,,,
Fakiu
Your still you
How do you do?\
Love this album and band! Braid part 2
Love you guy’s
This is great song.
I understand Calvin Elston is behind the exhaust work on this car. Any chance we could get a video explaining/showing that? It sounds absolutely wonderful.
Trade secret, but it’s a 4-1 design. Anyone looking at it would tell you it’s all wrong and wouldn’t work ;)
@@bobadams1728 Interesting! As I know the building is a big proponent of 4-2-1 designs. Thanks for the reply.
@@life_of_riley88this was built about the time Calvin was doing some R&D work with Shavers on the 410ci stuff, so he took some things he learned there and applied it to this. With the non x-flow packaging (which puts everything on the same side as the steering column and brake / clutch masters), 4-1 seemed like the best fit option to keep the bend radii nice and large. For the rpm range this engine runs (5000-7200rpm on track), a 4-2-1 would I believe add some more power under the curve, but the engine’s curve is nice and flat already, so splitting hairs at this level. Better to spend more time on the chassis for sure. A good exhaust helps these a lot as the head is the cork in the whole thing (small bore limits valve sizes, no included valve angle, intake port is just okay but exhaust port is worst). Good exhaust and a bunch of valve lift and compression (but not too much as you don’t want a huge dome to hurt combustion) get around the lack of valve area. If you look at every other TR header, they come off the head way too tight.
@@bobadams1728 Very cool, thanks for the info. I too own a car with exhaust that people say won't work. .. but smaller, properly sized primaries and properly sized chokes in the merge collectors make a world of difference over a cheesy box header design. 180 degree pairing helps too! Cheers.
@@life_of_riley88 yep! Calvin has done the Cobra Automotive Mustangs / Camaros. 600bhp+ and feed into a single 3in tailpipe. Those cars sound glorious at full song.
I'd never heard these guys before but I'd been a huge Beach Slang fan for a while prior to clicking this video. I instantly fell in love with this song. Reminds me of early Bouncing Souls.
Even slowed down it's only 2 and a half minutes.
This was my first concert. North jersey. Traded canned food for entrance
Absolutely wonderful!
Thx share, nice pull! Did you beef up rear? My TR4-A kept eating gears, so I switched to the bulletproof, but much heavier Ford 9" w/Detroit Locker.
Stock rear with a 4.1 gear and a Quaife rear diff. Just replace the fluid regularly as it gets hot. Axles are the “Southwick Conversion”.
2020. Still rocking this jam
Goo Goo Dolls wish they had written that one.
My name and is weston
stared at the road and i said...
Life is for the strongest nuts u can bust.
Do these cars run a custom built frame or are they limited to original frames?
Stock chassis, but spring rates / shocks / sway bars / and axle locating devices free. Geometry has to be stock however. Lots of testing and math to figure out spring rates, shocks, etc.
@@bobadams1728 Kyle does that old TR4 justice. Good history and a pleasure to view.
Late 1990's Niteowl... Pensacola !!!
Heard this back when fuel tv showed skating and bmx. Been slapping ever since
chills with this one... every fucking time
So great. I'm old as fuck. This was on constant rotation when I was in high school. I love that it carries on.
This song is a thunderstorm in a bottle
Guess I was already here lol 😹
pop'n'roll
Those vocals harmonies are knocking me out!
Such a great band
New Shirt reminds me so much of Jonathan Richman. So does a lot of (good) pop punk actually
This rocks! Pop punk at its best
Great driving!
how mch power did it make? sounds great!
A lot for what it is!
Takes me almost fifteen years back to grade school, like it was a more happy Vietnam-esque flashback
Wow
Other songs like this I can cry to?
the pine, they have some great songs also check out tom lomacchio
Evergreen, who calls so loud
Everyone song by boilermaker lol
Also boys life, Christie front drive
Pop valiant, pop unknown, sweep the leg johnny
Such a melancholic song. I love it
does anyone know what chuck and snyder are singing throughout the song?
Don’t judge a song by its recording *cough*John*cough*
Such a brilliant album
❤️that I found this here... WESTON shaped so much of my & friends’ teenage years back then... -beyond talented, such great shows, ALWAYS great x’s ...#MammyHouseOnVineLivesOn4evr
Good God I would love to have my 67 TR4A back. Sold it for too little money. This was drifting before there was such a thing. What a wonderful car.
Pull back my lip while i watch my step Spitting words hurts me Facing backwards might cause you to slip To slow down Watch your step take a little trip down Who knows where to land Your broken hand scratch my back Mend me now My chance to move on who's to know But the outer side The outside might glimpse A glimpse gather my sense Sit back and mend myself Take a walk outside too bored to sleep Not enough time to get anything halfway done
